Highway of Heroes

We live very close to the stretch of highway to which they're referring (though we're not in Coburg, but a bit further west).

I've seen hundreds of people crammed onto the overpasses: old, young, families, firefighters, cops, ambulances..you name it. I've seen the motorcades go by.

And I've wept for the fallen every time.

Wow. Another reason why Canadians and their military are so special in their roles. You guys do it right and for the right reasons.

The neat part, Larry, is that this was entirely started by the local folk in this area. At first it was just a few people, but word got out and before you know it, it was just huge. It was actually because of these people showing their respect to the fallen and a subsequent petition that was tendered to our gov't, that the highway eventually became the "Highway of Heroes".

THAT's what makes me proud. :)

By the way, you look DAMN hot in a kilt.
